On 12th Nov 2013 (Sunday), TalentCorp and UiTM held Sector Focused Career Fair on career opportunities in Shared Services and Outsourcing at UiTM Shah Alam Campus. It is an initiative by TalentCorp to create career awareness and educate public especially the university students on the opportunity that exist in Shared Services and Outsourcing (SSO). There are 11 National Key Economic Areas (NKEAs), which including Oil & Gas, Electronics & Electrical, IT, Telecommunication, Biotechnology, Finance, Accounting, Healthcare, Tourism, FMCG & Education.

There were events such as Career Talks and Couch Corner Slot. Career Talks is a platform developed for the young generation to engage with prominent industry leaders, while the Couch Corner Slot was designed for the visitors, especially students, to interact with the companies in a relaxing atmosphere. All visitors have opportunities to meet with CEOs and Senior HR Representatives of participating companies to understand further about the market need and opportunity. SFCF UiTM is supported by more than 30 companies, including AIG, DHL, Electrolux, Frost & Sullivan, GlaxoSmithKline, HP, IBM, LaFarge, Sime Darby and PwC.

The event was kicked start with dialogue session with YB Senator Dato’ Sri Abdul Wahid bin Omar, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department. Dato’ Sri Wahid shared his thoughts on measurements and approaches to accelerate Malaysia’s socio-economic development. This has to be progressed in a strategic and sustainable manner to achieve the vision of a transformed economy.

This event is good and beneficial fresh graduates that are going to expose to actual workplace, in order they can more prepared for the expectations of the employer. Job market has transformed from traditional company setting into centralized operation based on region to accommodate the fast moving business and also to optimize the available the resources to generate the highest profit of a company. Malaysia is one of the potential country as Shared Services hub due to our language capability and unique nation. Therefore, continuous learning and collaboration are very important in nation development.

My Penny of View: John, a police officer that on vacation traveled to Russia to rescue his son, Jack that has been arrested. During the court trial, an explosion occurred in from the of the courthouse and caused chaos. Jack took the chance to escape and he brought government whistleblower, Yuri Komarov along. John arrived at the explosion scene and get involved in the whole car chasing and shooting incident. When they successfully got rid of Alik and his gang, they went to safe house. Then revealed that Jack was working for CIA and Komarov was holding an important file that needed by CIA. Will Jack able to accomplish his mission? How's the incident affects the relationship between John and Jack?

What you will be expecting from Die Hard? Gun shooting and pack with exciting fighting scenes. However, this movie seems like lack of some 'power' and less chemistry of combination of father and son. The car chasing scene is memorable and heart stirring but others movie plots just fine. Overall, the movie is an action-packed movie with entertaining ending but lack of surprises.

My Penny of View: Young Hansel and Gretel were abandoned by their father in forest. They entered a gingerbread house and caught by a witch. Hansel was forced to continue eating candy while Gretel was forced to set up the oven. With great chemistry between Hansel and Gretel, the witch trapped inside the oven and cooked until die. Ever since, Hansel and Gretel became witch hunters due to both of them immune to spells and curses naturally. However, Hansel gotten diabetic due to the candy incident and he needed to inject insulin everyday. They worked for money and one day they arrived at a town called Augsburg and many kids abducted by witches. What is the motive behind the abduction? Will Hansel and Gretel able to save the kids and take down the evil witches?

I like to watch this kind of fairy tale movie with attack of dark forces and some action scenes. But as the result the movie is below my expectations. I guess maybe because of the main actors or probably the action was not exciting enough. It was quite entertaining with black comedy. Another reason why this is a so-so movie is the story line is predictable, no surprise. I guess to have better view on a movie next time, maybe we should not watch the trailer before the movie to lower down our expectations.

My Penny of View: A business man failed in his business, he killed his business partner and wife. He went back home and brought his two daughters, Victoria and Lily away with intention to kill both of them later he will commit suicide. He was driving dangerously on the slippery road and the car slid into woods. All of them survived and they went to a cabin nearby. When the man was pointing the gun at Victoria's head, a dark shadow pulled and killed him. The two girls survived in the cabin beside fireside and cherry provided by mysterious figure. Five years later, the rescue team that sponsored by Victoria and Lily's uncle found the abandoned cabin and the girls. They were alive but with weird and animal alike behavior. Are they still human or monster? How exactly the two small girls survive for the past five years?

It's suppose to be a spooky mysterious movie and end up I think it's quite touching, because Mama actually is a mother that miss her children too much and she can't leave the world peacefully. Mama doesn't have bad intention in the beginning because she saved the two girls from being killed by their father and she took care of them. Just Mama became mad due to jealousy of the person that treated both girls sincerely. The graphic of Mama was pretty cool and not that scary. After all, the whole movie is visually enjoyable with fine ending.

My Penny of View: Story began with a man drove into a parking lot. After paid the parking, he took out his sniper riffle and aimed the opposite recreation park. Then the situation turned out as five persons killed randomly and the man ran away. After the incident, very soon police discovered the finger print on the coin to pay for parking was belonged to James Barr and they went to arrest him. During detention, James refused to say anything but only asked for Jack Reacher. Jack was a drifter and former U.S. Army Military Police Corps officer. When the officers were scratching head where to find Jack, suddenly he appeared in the police station after he saw the news that James has been arrested. Unfortunately, James was in coma situation due to attack by fellow inmates. Jack believed James was innocent and he wanted to find out the truth for James. Will he success to do so?

The storyline pretty exciting with unexpected plots. The person you thought is your friend or love one, end up is the person that betray you. However, it was slightly draggy with too much of explanations. I still prefer Tom Cruise action in Mission Impossible. He still young and handsome as usual but the movie can be more heart-stirring if there is more difficult action scenes.

Genting Tribal Halloween Gathering

Thanks to Nuffnang and Genting for the invitation to join Tribal Halloween Gathering at Awana Genting Long House on 03.11.2012 (Saturday). We were gathering at the Wisma Genting in the early morning and bus provided to bring us up to Awana Genting. Before checked into the Long House, we have our lunch at Restaurant Rajawali.

The buffet lunch is RM44.05 nett for adult and RM24.35 for children. The food consists of Malaysia local and fusion food. It's a cozy and comfortable environment to enjoy your lunch and dinner.

Here we are for our stay for the night, Long House. Long House is for special event such as team building. It has 5 rooms and sort of a dormitory type. You need to walk to another side for bathroom. Genting decorated the Long House in conjunction with the Tribal Halloween Gathering.

All of us divided into four groups and we started the game with Crossword and Suduko. During the hunt, we have physical test, archery, taking photos and answering questions to find the World Card. The Eco Sport Treasure Hunt ended about 3 hours time. When all the groups returned to Long House, all people went to clean up and prepare for dinner.

After some small games and full seafood dinner, we returned to Long House for Blogger Sharing session. We have Ernest from Don't Like That, Bro and Abang Nara from BeautifulNara. It was a great sharing session and I gotten some useful tips to become a successful blogger.

After the Blogger Sharing session, we have prize presentation and lucky draw. I'm think I quite lucky, I got the First World Superior Deluxe room.

Congratulations to winners.

It was a wet and cold night. The night ended with light refreshment and movie at the common area. On the next day, we have tele-match after our breakfast. The winning group would be the combination of points from Eco Sport Treasure Hunt and Tele-Match. Although my group didn't win the first prize, but I think all the group members has tried our best. It was such a memorable and meaningful weekend. After packing up, we went back to Restaurant Rajawali for our lunch and bus picked up back to the busy KL city. Thanks to Nuffnang and Genting for a wonderful experience.

My Penny of View: Victor Frankenstein lived in a small town with his parents and his dog, Sparky. He was a science and movie freak. He didn't have any friends except Sparky. One day, when Victor was playing a baseball game, Sparky ran for the ball and hit by a car. Sparky died and Victor was so sad. Victor was inspired by his science teacher about how electricity can stimulate the dead frog, he dug out Sparky's corpse and successfully made it alive using lighting. It still the old Sparky that he loved. Unfortunately Sparky was spotted by Victor's classmate, Edgar and he threaten Victor to teach him how to raise the dead, but the result ended differently if compared with Sparky. What is happening? Will Sparky stay on alive with Victor later on?

This is my first 3D black and white movie on the big screen. Tim Burton always like to give surprise to the audiences, so this is definitely something fresh and different with ordinary animation. This movie is a remake of a short film by Tim Burton back to 1984. He has special charm on every of his movie and he makes unique movies. The movie is about a lonely boy and his dog. Death separates them apart but the smart Victor raises Sparky alive from dead. Sparky also saves Victor's life when he is in dangerous. Even it's don't have any colors but it is such a heart warming story. However, not much of 3D effects. So, remember this is a black and white movie, don't ask your movie partner, "Do you see any color?"

My Penny of View: When John was a kid, he has no friend and he was lonely. He wished his large teddy bear, Ted became alive and be his best friend. His wish was granted and Ted accompanied John for his childhood until John grew up at aged of 30s. John was in a relationship with Lori for 4 years but he still immature and playful with Ted. Lori couldn't stand the existence of Ted anymore and she asked John to ask Ted to move out from the apartment, because John couldn't move on his life with Ted around. John managed to persuade Ted and Ted started his life without John. What will happen to Ted and John? Will John live happily ever after with Lori?

Who don't love the fluffy teddy bear? Isn't it good that it become alive and talk to you? Ted is an extraordinary teddy bear, eventually it grow older as John grow up, and Ted even become bad teddy bear that take drug, alcohol and expose to sex. This movie definitely not suitable for kids and it is going to spoil the image of teddy bear. It is the story of bromance versus romance. John needs to choose between girlfriend and buddy. Not a new storyline but scripts of Ted are very funny. However, some of the jokes kinda lame, maybe because those not quite original. So, don't ever think a movie with teddy bear should be for kids or girls. This movie definitely for adult only.

My Penny of View : John awaken from coma and found out that his wife and daughter has died. He only could remember some images of attack and he swore to kill the men responsible for the death of his family. When he tried to figure out what had happened, he was attacked by an UniSol, Magnus. He fought with Magnus and ran away for survival. He found some clues about his identity and he got to know that his family existed only in his implanted memory. He was struggling and meantime he needed to run away from Magnus's hunting. Who exactly is John? What is the real story behind?

Honestly, I not so sure about the whole story after watching for almost 2 hours. I can't figure out what is the reason of the whole attack and chasing of UniSol. The movie is draggy and messy. The fighting not too exciting as what I have expected but it was quite disgusting for the cutting the leg and also fingers. It make me start to feel this is not an action movie instead of horror movie.

My Penny of View : Movie began with a housewife that appeared with Alice's face, awoke from sleep and lived happily with her husband and daughter. The peaceful life interrupted by zombie attack, left the housewife and daughter ran for life. On the other hand, Alice awaken in the Umbrella base. During the unexpected power failure, Alice managed to escape from the cell and walked into Tokyo simulation. Alice encountered familiar zombie attack and she battled with lots of zombies. Later Alice met up with Ada, associate of Wesker, and explained that the Red Queen was controlling the Umbrella Corporation. Wesker no longer worked for Umbrella Corporation and he sent Ada to assist Alice escape to save the remaining mankind. Wesker also sent a team to help Alice and Ada escape. Are they manage to escape from the Umbrella base?

This movie is the fifth installment of Resident Evil series, but seems like they have out of story to make the whole zombies killing more thrilling. For me, this movie just like playing the video game, because Alice has been killing the zombies from one simulation to another simulation. The zombies in Moscow simulation are amazing. They can use machine gun and they can drive cars to chase Alice and gang. Another exciting scene is when Alice and Ada are killing the Axeman. That was heart-stirring. Overall, not much of story for this movie and in the end, Alice was injected with T-virus AGAIN. So, she got her former superhuman power back. Seems like here we go again for story of Alice killing zombies all over again.
