My Penny of View: John, a police officer that on vacation traveled to Russia to rescue his son, Jack that has been arrested. During the court trial, an explosion occurred in from the of the courthouse and caused chaos. Jack took the chance to escape and he brought government whistleblower, Yuri Komarov along. John arrived at the explosion scene and get involved in the whole car chasing and shooting incident. When they successfully got rid of Alik and his gang, they went to safe house. Then revealed that Jack was working for CIA and Komarov was holding an important file that needed by CIA. Will Jack able to accomplish his mission? How's the incident affects the relationship between John and Jack?

What you will be expecting from Die Hard? Gun shooting and pack with exciting fighting scenes. However, this movie seems like lack of some 'power' and less chemistry of combination of father and son. The car chasing scene is memorable and heart stirring but others movie plots just fine. Overall, the movie is an action-packed movie with entertaining ending but lack of surprises.

My Penny of View: A business man failed in his business, he killed his business partner and wife. He went back home and brought his two daughters, Victoria and Lily away with intention to kill both of them later he will commit suicide. He was driving dangerously on the slippery road and the car slid into woods. All of them survived and they went to a cabin nearby. When the man was pointing the gun at Victoria's head, a dark shadow pulled and killed him. The two girls survived in the cabin beside fireside and cherry provided by mysterious figure. Five years later, the rescue team that sponsored by Victoria and Lily's uncle found the abandoned cabin and the girls. They were alive but with weird and animal alike behavior. Are they still human or monster? How exactly the two small girls survive for the past five years?

It's suppose to be a spooky mysterious movie and end up I think it's quite touching, because Mama actually is a mother that miss her children too much and she can't leave the world peacefully. Mama doesn't have bad intention in the beginning because she saved the two girls from being killed by their father and she took care of them. Just Mama became mad due to jealousy of the person that treated both girls sincerely. The graphic of Mama was pretty cool and not that scary. After all, the whole movie is visually enjoyable with fine ending.

My Penny of View: Artie and Diane was a funky couple. One day, her daughter asked them to take care of her children due to run out of resources while she and her husband went for a gateway. Artie and Diane quickly agreed with the suggestion and they wanted to prove that they were capable in taking care of their grandchildren. Eldest granddaughter, Harper was tense with violin audition, elder grandson, Turner was having language disability problem and youngest grandson was naughty and cheeky. Will Artie and Diane manage to take care of their grandchildren?

This is a family oriented movie and story line is easy to catch with laughter. Billy Crystal and Bette Midler are great actors. The combination of wonderful actors and children enlightened the movie. It's a sweet and loving family movie but lack of surprises and some of the jokes pretty lame, but the children are very cute and good in acting.

My Penny of View: There was a boy named himself 'Pi'. His family owned a zoo and considered one of the wealthy family in India. They have a Bengal tiger named Richard Parker. When Pi's father found an opportunity in Canada, he decided to sell the zoo and move the family to Canada. They brought the animals on the ship to sell the animals in Canada. One night, when there was a storm, Pi has been separated with his family. He watched helplessly at the ship sank and killed his family and the crew. After the storm, he found himself on a lifeboat with injured zebra and orangutan. Later, hyena emerged from the tarp and killed both zebra and orangutan. Suddenly, Richard Parker appeared from the tarp and killed hyena. Then, left only Pi and Richard Parker on the lifeboat. What will happen to both of them? Will Pi survive?

Life of Pi is based on Yann Martel's 2001 novel of the same name and directed by Ang Lee. Although it's a lengthy movie, but it was well structured with exciting plots. It was about two individuals that try to survive in the middle of ocean and by default this two individuals are naturally enemies. Yes, in the end Pi and Richard Parker survived but they are back to their natural characters after back to reality. There are many implications after watching this movie. Two different endings illustrated by Pi but depends on you, which one you will like to hear it. Some rather believe the human version and some prefer the animal version. I think there is no Richard Parker in reality, and Richard Parker is Pi. The morale of the story is we will do anything to survive. The story leave it it to us to imagine the truth and the ending. What I enjoy the most, is the visualization. The effects and colors are amazingly beautiful and cool. This movie must watch in digital version.

My Penny of View: Movie began with a fully loaded police car that carrying the most advance equipment and five trained police officers mysterious disappeared out of the grid. Later an anonymous call reached the police headquarter with a message of large ransom in order to release the hostages. Hence, the statement of Hong Kong as the Asia's the safest city would be tested. Sean and Waise fought to take charge of the Cold War, code for the rescue operation. Sean found Waise not suitable to take charge for the operation because his son was one of the hostages. What will happen to the hostages? Will Sean and Waise manage to save the hostages and retain the safety of Hong Kong?

Frankly speaking, not many quality Hong Kong movie in the recent years. I think this movie can be categorized as one of the good Hong Kong movie, but it still seems like lack of something if compared with Internal Affairs(无间道). Back to the movie, story line is quite straight forward. Police officers become hostages and it shows that the hijackers are not afraid of police. It's quite exciting when you find that are inner stories for the incident. The one you thought is the bad guy, end up is the good police to retain reputation of police force. Tony Leung and Aaron Kwok are seldom show up in the big screen nowadays, but I think Tony Leung make a better appearance of powerful police. Charlie Yeung is also another actress you hardly see these days. Any Lau make a special appearance. I think he will be better fit into the role of Aaron Kwok. Overall, it's one of the good movie recommended to watch during weekend.

He only could remember some images of attack and he swore to kill the men responsible for the death of his family. When he tried to figure out what had happened, he was attacked by an UniSol, Magnus. He fought with Magnus and ran away for survival. He found some clues about his identity and he got to know that his family existed only in his implanted memory. He was struggling and meantime he needed to run away from Magnus's hunting. Who exactly is John? What is the real story behind?

Honestly, I not so sure about the whole story after watching for almost 2 hours. I can't figure out what is the reason of the whole attack and chasing of UniSol. The movie is draggy and messy. The fighting not too exciting as what I have expected but it was quite disgusting for the cutting the leg and also fingers. It make me start to feel this is not an action movie instead of horror movie.

My Penny of View : It was a 3D documentary concert film about Katy Perry. The movie was talking about her childhood, younger Katy to chase her dream, scenes from backstage for her last world tour and her divorce with Russell Brand. Throughout the movie, you can hear familiar songs such as Teenage Dream, Hot n Cold, I Kissed a Girl, Last Friday Night, The One that Got Away, Firework and California Gurls.

Who don't know the talented Katy Perry? She is pretty, sexy and she can sing very well. She is the first female and second artist (tied with Michael Jackson) ever to have five No. 1 singles from one album. From the movie, you can see the commitment of Katy Perry to perform well during her world tour. It is not easy to become a famous singer. Before she is famous, she just a girl next door who has a dream. With her determination and continuous improvement, she did it and become a successful artist. She was deeply hurt and sad when she was in dilemma between her career and marriage. She has put her full commitment into her marriage but it didn't last long. Anyway, I'm sure someone is better waiting for her out there. Fans of Katy Perry definitely won't miss this movie. When you were watching the movie, it's just like you went to her concert.

My Penny of View : Mae and Nak was a loving couple. They married and followed by pregnancy. While Nak was still pregnant, Mae was called to a war in Bangkok. During that period, Nak died during baby delivering. Both of them died. Ever since, the village has been haunted by Nak. When Mae returned from war, he didn't realize that Nak has died and they lived like normal. The people in the village tried to tell him but stopped by Nak. What will happen to Mae when he find out?

This is a famous Thai ghost story. Nak's true love and devotion for Mak inspires many people. However, the makeup for the ghost is quite fake and the movie is actually quite funny. Ghost movies nowadays unlike the previous one use too much of 3D effects and shoot in digital version. Hence, it will make you laugh rather than being scared. Anyway, there is a little touching when Mae was persuading Nak but most of the time, the movie is quite entertaining.

My Penny of View : Story started with Shaw and Holloway, the archaeologist couple found a star map of the founder of human. The map was interpreted as an invitation to explore the "Engineers" which was creator of human. Later, the discovery was funded by a scientific foundation and a ship crew traveled to the destination according to the star map. Finally they arrived at the destination and started the exploration. Will they able to find the "Engineers"? What will happen to them?

I think this movie should be named as The Beginning of Alien. You will find out from the movie how the alien has been created. The story line is not so interesting and seems like their exploration is just another "The Road to Hell". The crew went there to look for death. Basically I found the movie quite boring but one of the scenes is freaking me out which is Noomi Rapace on the automated surgery table to remove the alien. That is heart stirring and disgusting. There are some teasers in the end of the movie for the "maybe" sequel if the movie is getting good responds. The whole crew left the only Shaw to search for homeland of the "Engineers" to find out why they created and wanted to destroy human.

My Penny of View : Maddy returned home for summer holiday. Her step father, Chet planned to reopen the water park and name it as "Big Wet". Maddy met her close friends, Ashley and Shelby during the party at night. While Shelby and boyfriend were swimming nakedly in the lake, something bitten Shelby and went into her vagina. One the other hand, while Ashley and boyfriend were having sex in a van, they accidentally tripped the handbrake and the van went into the lake. Under panic condition, they couldn't find way out and a bunch of piranha attacked both of them. What happen? Will it be another piranha attack?

This movie is combination of Scary Movie, Final Destination and Baywatch. You still will be terrified by the piranha because they are fast and always hungry. The left over bodies are horrible and disgusting but most of the scenes became horror-comedy. Some jokes are lame and it keep using women boobs as topic. Don't recommend to watch in cinema but can download to watch during free time. Guess what? Piranha undergoing revolution, they can leave water and walk on the ground which means it will going to have the next movie if there is any investor.

During an international training exercise, the crews found a mystery object stayed in the middle of ocean but the radar can't sense the existence. Alex and others went to investigate the object and accidentally activate the protection system. What exactly is the mysterious object? What are they going to encounter?

First of all, the first part of Alex's life is kinda draggy and unnecessary. The movie should focus on more the battle between human and alien. The battle scenes are exciting, good effects, humor and interesting especially when the retired US Navy joined the battle. They seems like the hero to save the world. As usual, alien can't survive on earth and this alien afraid of sunlight but they always have advance technology. Taylor Kitsch is quite suitable for action movie since John Carter. Brooklyn Decker possesses sexy and smart character, she can be the next Transformer babe. Big claps to Rihanna, she did her role pretty well and she has potential to become a successful actress. One more tips if you intend to watch this movie-Don't watch the trailer before the movie.

My Penny of View : In 1980s, Maria involved in a triple murder when the church members tried to perform exorcism on her. Later, she has been sent to a Catholic psychiatric hospital in Rome. Maria's daughter, Isabella got to know about the incident from her father and he died few days later. 20 years later, Isabella wanted to find out more about her mother and she filmed the whole process of her journey to encounter with her long time no see mother. In Rome, she went to classes to understand more about exorcism and she met two priests, Ben and David. She told them about her will and they agreed to help her. Both of them brought Isabella to understand more about exorcism and meanwhile did further investigation of her mother's case. It was prohibited to perform exorcism without proof that the patient was possessed. Therefore, Isabella, Ben and David were trying to gather proof to present to the church in order they can perform exorcism on Maria. Will they successful to release Maria from demons?

This movie is presented in documentary style, similar with The Blair Witch Project. It successfully made you feel that it's a real story because it can make you scare, shock and disturb with all the bones cracking sound. Together the consequences for being possessed, the person will have extreme power and he/she will kill human with very cruel methods. When the moment you are very into the movie and can't wait to find out whether Isabella will be saved from demons, the movie ended with stupid car crash. What a lame ending. As a conclusion, demon can hoop from one human body to another and exorcism can end the story.

The prince likes to judge book from cover and he has bad temper. The old beggar woman punished him by transforming him into an ugly Beast while his servants turned into furniture and household items. He was given a magic mirror that can see things that he want to see and a rose will bloom until his 21st birthday. If he unable to find someone to love and to be loved in return before all the rose's petals fallen off, he will remain as Beast forever. There was a beautiful and young girl named Bella that stayed in town with her father. When her father wanted to travel to a fair, he got lost and came to Beast's castle. Beast imprisoned the father and Bella came to rescue. She offered herself to set her father free. What will happen to Bella? Will she be safe? What about the curse on Beast?

The Golden Globe Award winner back to big screen after so many years. Beauty and the Beast is my favorite story especially the song Beauty and the Beast theme which performed by Céline Dion and Peabo Bryson. The story has great value which is never judge a person from how they look with adorable characters such as Lumière, Cogsworth, Mrs. Potts and Chip. You will be expecting awesome pop out effects and clear digital animation. The movie just like showing live in front of you but I think the graphic of Bella and Beast still remain the old fashioned cartoon. Overall, I enjoy myself for the 1.5 hours movie. How come the Beast looks more handsome if compare with his human look?

My Penny of View : Matt was a low level agent who was in the position of safe house's housekeeper. He was a new guy and his house never be visited. One day, his safe house visited by Tobin Frost, an ex CIA agent that became international criminal. Not long after the arrival of the big guy, a group of people trespassed into the safe house and killed everyone. The survived Matt brought Tobin out of the safe house and contacted his mentor, Sam. He was told to stay off-grid until further instruction. What will happen to the inexperience Matt? Will he manage to protect the international criminal, Tobin Frost?

I have some expectations on this movie because of Denzel Washington and Ryan Reynolds. The story line is juicy and suspicious because there is betrayer in the CIA team. Every movement is under observation and safe house is not as safe as it should be. Some of the explosion scenes do scared me, I think maybe it's because of the sound system but not until make you anxious. There are too much of talkings between Denzel Washington and Ryan Reynolds that make me feel the movie is too long. The ending is good although Denzel Washington died for Ryan Reynolds. Morale of the story is no one is safe after all and look for the key words to survive.

My Penny of View : Andrew was an unpopular teenager in school. He has a alcoholic father and a mother who was suffering from cancer. He started video tapping his life. His only friend and also his cousin, Matt brought him to a local rave party. In the party, Andrew punched by a guy who was angry that he was filming his girlfriend. While Andrew was upset with what had happened, Steve approached him and said that he and Matt found a mysterious hole. They wanted Andrew to go and film it. Three of them went into the hole and heard loud sound. Then they found glowing object and the camera blacked out. What happen to Andrew, Matt and Steve? Are they going to survive?

The beginning of movie was quite boring and dull. The high tide of the movie started when three of the main actors has telekinetic powers. It didn't explain the source of the powers and it makes it very mysterious. It was interesting to see people flying, controlling object using mind and they have invulnerable body. Some of the scenes were recorded using handy camera. So, it was kinda shaking. The last scene was awesome and exciting. Two people flying, helicopter crashing and building demolishing. This is a movie that focusing on visualization instead of story line and actors.

My Penny of View : Walter and Gary, two brothers were fans of Muppets since they were young. After grown up, Gary have a lovely girlfriend, Mary and they planned to go Los Angeles to celebrate 10th anniversary. Gary invited Walter along so he could see the Muppets Theater. When they arrived, the Muppets Theater seemed closing down and they have been long time didn't put on a show. Walter overheard that the theater will be selling to a businessman and his intention behind was to drill underneath oil. The only way to save the Muppets Theater was to raise $10million to purchase back the theater. Walter felt sad for the news and together with Gary and Mary, they went to find Kermit to solve the problem. Kermit felt sorrow for the news and he needed to reunite the group back for a show to raise such money. Therefore, Kermit, Walter, Gary and Mary went to track down others to save the theater. Are they able to save back the theater? What kind of barriers waiting for them?

Toy Story-Small Fry is the opening for this movie. I really miss Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Jessie, Mr. and Mrs Potato Head...I'm gonna watch all the Toy Story all over again. To be frank, I'm more familiar with Sesame Street rather than The Muppets but I'm happy to watch such fun musical show. All the muppets are lovable, heartfelt and adorable. I like the Travel by Map feature, no passport needed. Jack Black, Whoopi Goldberg, Selena Gomez, Neil Patrick Harris and Zach Galifianakis make the special appearance and light up the whole movie. The story and characters are old fashioned but it reminds the toys that the kids should be playing instead of iPad or video game. It's definitely a movie suitable for this holiday season.

My Penny of View : Twilight series continued with graduation of Bella and followed by her wedding, as the only condition to become vampire. Jacob was upset with the wedding but finally he attended the wedding. He got to know Bella and Edward have plan to complete their marriage during honeymoon. He felt mad and he wanted to attacked Edward but stopped by his wolf pack. Later, Bella and Edward went for their honeymoon on a private island. They had sex for the first time but Edward realized he was hurting Bella badly and he stopped do that again. Bella felt disappointment but later Edward gave up on her seductions. After two weeks on the island, Bella found out she was pregnant and the fetus was growing extremely fast in her stomach. They quickly terminated the honeymoon and went back to Forks. What exactly is Bella carrying? What will happen to her?

It seems like a trend to has two parts for series of movies. I guess the production team and the writer are trying to show as many story plots as possible according to the book. Expectations for this movie-the wedding, Edward has sex with Bella and give birth.

The wedding is so beautiful and lovely. I don't think Kristen Stewart is pretty but the light make up highlights the her natural beauty. For hair, the messy style looks stunning. Her dress is designed by Carolina Herrera. It looks simple from the front but sexy and it has beautiful lace details on the back. The shoes called Swan Embellished Satin Pumps that make her appearance perfect. Next is the wedding theme. It has white flowers hanging with wooden chairs at both sides of the entrance. Everything looks simple and natural. Everything is flawless with Edward as the bridegroom.



Sex scene has been censored in Malaysia cinema. So, no chance to see how powerful is the sex between vampire and human. The last scene to look forward is the delivery baby but it has been censored as well. End up baby suddenly appear in the arm of Rosalie and Bella suddenly die. If those people didn't read the book, they will have a lot of questions in mind. The scene that Bella turn into vampire quite hilarious. In order to become stunning without and collagen or botox, become vampire can have such results. Anyway, it still a great movie to me and I shall wait for the full HD version. I can't wait to see the second part.

Teatime with Chatime

I have confession to make, I'm a loyal Chatime fans in terms of I only drink Roasted Milk Tea with Pearl. I know there are various of choices on menu but I only obsess with Roasted Milk Tea with Pearl. I guess this session is time for me to try out other drinks and meanwhile get to know other Churpers as well.

As a civilize person, we should queue up to order and pay for our drinks. You can select sugar and ice level according to your preference. You even can add on either pearl, jelly grass, QQ jelly or Ai Yu. The price is average RM5.90 for regular size. You will be given a number and you can collect your drinks when your number appear on the screen.

The food were yummy and seems like kinda heavy for teatime. Luckily we shared the food so we can try different choices. The mingle session included a mini game that was 5 teams with 4 members took turn to taste the Chatime drinks and write on paper the name of the drinks. Momo, Daniel, Shin Ee and I participated in the game and it was fun.





Teatime with Chatime was fun and there were many familiar faces of bloggers and churpers. It was my first time attending same event with KampungBoyCityGal although all the while I'm following their blog. Their blog is really compact, informative and seducing. They did a great job.

My Penny of View : Tintin, a young journalist, was hanging around in a open market with his dog, Snowy. He saw a model of a three-masted sailing ship, the Unicorn, and he quickly bought it with a good price. Right after the deal made, two gentlemen, one of them was Sakharine, appeared and tried to buy the model from Tintin. Tintin refused and he brought the model home. With full of curiosity, Tintin examined the model carefully but later it was destroyed by Snowy and neighbor's cat. Later, he went to library to find out about the model. He got to know that the model was built by Sir Francis Haddock and his old place was Marlinspike Hall. Tintin went to that place and he met Sakharine. He saw Sakharine has another identical model. What is the secret of the models? What kind of adventure is waiting for Tintin?

Who the hell is Tintin? The comic do look familiar to me but I can't recall the story about Tintin. Therefore, this movie is seems like full of mystery to me. With the names of Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson, you will definitely have certain expectations for the movie. The comic of Tintin is from French, not so popular in the past over 20 years due to the decease of the writer-Hergé. The flow of the story went more and more exciting. It was a fun, heart-stirring, funny and warm movie. Especially the chemistry between Tintin, Snowy and Captain Haddock. The story not going to run away from the comic book and 3D effect will be another focal point. Someone even asked me, is Tintin played by human? Because she said Snowy looks like a real dog. From this question, you can come to conclusion that the animation is awesome and incredible. 3D effect just sufficient as the objective of the movie is to convert the comic book into another series of animation in future. So, I guess there will be more and more the adventures of Tintin and Snowy coming soon.
