My Penny of View : A body found in the ocean that certified it was the famous musician, Han Tsui. Inspector Lam was responsible to investigate the case and it seems related back to a 20 years ago case. The suspect, Wang has just released from prison at the same time and he was imprisoned for 20 years for killing Han Tsui's daughter. Many evidences directed to Wang but Inspector Lam looked at the case differently. The more he investigated, the more he discovered the dark secrets of Han Tsui. Who exactly the murderer? How the present case relate back to the 20 years old case?
Nick Cheung and Simon Yam are two great actors. From TV series until big screens. In the beginning, the story looks direct and simple but when you follow closely every evidence, the true story slowly reveal. It shows the dark side of human for abandon the responsibility as father and meanwhile another father scarifies himself to protect his daughter. Everything reveals in the end and it makes sense. Bravo to Nick Cheung. He was a prisoner that lost his voice in a fight. Therefore, he needs to put more expression on his face to convince audience. His acting is getting better. Simon Yam is getting older but still charming as always.

My Penny of View : The movie began with sudden death of John Carter. His nephew designated to accept his wealth and his journal. When he read through his journal, he slowly discovered the strange behavior of his uncle. Then, the movie flashed back to 20 years back when John Carter was a fugitive and he tried to escape from local authority and Apache Indians. He hid in a cave and a strange man appeared. John killed the man and while he was going to die, he took out a stone and mumbled something. John touched the stone and repeated what's man said. Suddenly, John was teleported to Barsoom(Mars). When John woke up, he realized he at a strange place and no human. Surprisingly he could jump high due to low gravity and killer punch. Later, he met with giant and four arms Martian. What will happen to John Carter? Will he manage to go back to the earth?
John Carter is an interesting character and he has an exciting journey to Barsoom(Mars). We always wonder is there other creature out there in other planet besides Earth? We heard about stories that related to Mars. I guess if one day Earth destroy, Mars is the next planet human possible consider to move. Everything John Carter encounter in the movie is fascinating. Human is Superman in Mars because we can jump very high due to low gravity. Somehow, I feel the movie is kinda lengthy. The second part of John Carter's adventure seems a bit boring. The movie will just nice if they cut the part which John Carter agreed to leave the planet and straight to the war. Overall, the movie is fun to watch.

My Penny of View : The Smurfs lived happily in the Smurfs village with invisible protection from the Gargamel. They were preparing for the Blue Moon Festival. Papa Smurf saw a vision that Clumsy Smurf was holding a dragon wand and Gargamel being so powerful. At the same time, Clumsy showed up and said he would like to pick up some Smurf Roots but stopped by Papa. However, Clumsy went out of the invisible protection secretly to pick up Smurf Roots and followed by Gargamel. Gargamel found the secret path go into the Smurf village and wanted to catch all the Smurfs. In the mid of chaos, Clumsy ran into a forbidden cave. Papa, Smurfette, Grouchy, Brainy and Gutsy noticed and hurry went after him. They tried to pull Clumsy up from the cave but they were sucked into a giant vortex and led them to New York. What will happen to them? Are they manage to go back to the Smurf village?
I remember I watched The Smurfs cartoon on TV when I was younger age. When the technology become advance, many new animations developed purely for 3D effects. Especially when the creator of The Smurfs-Peyo died in 1992, no one seems want to continue to invent more great stories of The Smurfs. Therefore, I believe the younger generation kids not sure who the hell is The Smurfs. Back to the movie, with new technology, The Smurfs appear in the big screen after so many years. Same old story line, important characters chase by bad guys, with help and faith, they manage to escape and live happily ever after. Predictable movie plots but full of laughter and humor. The Smurfs are cute and adorable. Although they are blue in color but you never feel blue after you watch the movie. You also can hear the familiar The Smurfs theme song. Katy Perry plays the voice of Smurfette. I think she quite fit for the role. Good job! The Smurfs definitely a perfect movie for whole family for this upcoming long holiday.

My Penny of View : Larry Crowne was a middle-aged worker of a market. He was one of the top performer and loyal worker. Due to his education level, he was unable to move on to higher level no matter how outstanding was his performance and later he got fire. Besides, Larry almost lost his house. His neighbor advised him to further studies in a local community college in order he could get a better job in future. In college, Larry easily blended with young classmates, he bought a scooter to join the scooter club and he found a kitchen job. Larry's teacher, Ms Tainot was an unhappy married women. When both of them started to know each other, Larry fell in love with her. Will their relationship work?
This romantic comedy film has been directed and written by Tom Hanks. The story is quite inspiring. It was about a man who goes through a sudden career change and he found unexpected consequences from his failure. The right and positive attitude is indeed when obstacles occurred. Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts are great actors. Both of them have the charisma and influence especially in inspiring story. They have the soft and relaxing chemistry. As an audience, you just need to follow the flow of the movie and not a complicated story.

My Penny of View : Peter was on his way home to Los Angeles to witness his first born baby. He met Ethan accidentally outside the airport and later he was sitting behind Peter in first class. Due to Ethan's overreaction about Peter's Blackberry, both of them has been kicked out from the plane and were put on the No Fly List. Peter was so furious about the incident and he need to find his way back by due date of the C-section. Later he found out that his wallet was left on the plane and he was forced to travel with Ethan because he has out of options. Ethan was travelling with his dog, dad ashes and he also was a marijuana addict. Peter totally don't agree with Ethan's personalities. What will happen to this two mismatched persons who forced to be travelled together? Will Peter make it to witness his first born baby?
Robert Downey, Jr. has a very serious face and he kinda suitable for this grumpy but actually good hearted character. He was pissed off by Zach Galifianakis but he was not cruel enough to leave him behind. When he knew he couldn't do anything but cope with Zach's attitude, both of them worked together to reach Los Angeles by due date. I like some funny scenes such as Peter, Ethan and Darryl were drinking Ethan's dad ashes as coffee; and when Peter arrived the hospital and he thought a negro baby was his baby. This short movie contained enough laughters for your weekend plan. If I were Peter, I will not travel with Ethan because I think I will going to become crazy and probably die for his insane action.
