My Penny of View : In the future, earth was divided into UFB and The Colony. Citizens traveled between via "The Fall" which traveled through Earth's core. To prevent terrorist, UFB has developed artificial soldiers to provide high security. Douglas awoke from nightmare that he has been running from police with a woman that he can't recall her identity. Although he has a stable job and beautiful wife, Lori, but he felt that some parts of his life were missing. He decided to visit Rekall, a company that will implant artificial memories as per your request. During the process, the Rekall employee discovered that Douglas was a real spy and suddenly a group of SWAT team bumped into the room. While Douglas being arrested, he reacted spontaneously to fight with the officers and escape. He returned to his home and told Lori about what had happened. Later, Lori attacked Douglas and revealed that she was an undercover UFB agent to pretend as his wife to monitor him for the past 6 weeks. Who exactly Douglas is? Why an undercover UFB agent need to monitor him?
This is a remake movie but I didn't watch the original and I feel the story is pretty interesting for me. Seems like The Colony probably will be our future earth if we continue to pollute our earth. The gap of social class still appear in future and sadly human become selfish due to limited resources. Many enquirers floating in my head in the beginning but later the answers all link nicely. The fighting and chasing scenes are thrilling especially the elevator scene. Colin Farrell is charming and his acting is lifelike. Both Kate Beckinsale and Jessica Biel are sexy. Somehow, I think both of them look alike. You can see the world of Doraemon that cars are floating in the air but why it is always raining in The Colony?
