Just messed up? Don't make excuses. Acknowledge your error, focus on what you are doing to fix it and ensure it doesn't happen again.
Stay calm and don't yell in an argument, even if the other person raises their voice. It will make them look like they are overreacting and cool down fast.
If things seem difficult, don't ask "Why me?'. Instead, ask yourself what can learn from the experience, and what you can do differently the next time.
Be nice to people. A smile, good manners and a little flattery can put someone in a better mood, so they will be more likely to help you when you facing problem.
Use humour to diffuse a tense situation. It's hard for someone to stay mad if they are laughing.
Listen to other people's views. People like to feel they are being heard, but don't be too influenced by others. Remember, you are living your own life - so point out that your opinion should be respected as well.
