My Penny of View : The story of the movie was based on legendary folk heroin that a girl-Mulan disguised as a boy and entered the Wei army to protect her aging father. The 12 years time in Wei army, Mulan has been promoted due her excellent martial arts abilities. She gained respect from her fellow soldiers too. Besides, she found her true love-Modu during this lengthy period in Wei army. He was the only one who knew her real identity. He has became her inspiration during battle with the enemy. After 12 years of war, Wei got the victory and it was a win-win situation for both of the countries. However, Modu as prince of Wei have to marry with princess and left Mulan alone. The king of Wei condoned Mulan for disguising and approved her to go back to her hometown. Although Mulan didn't get her true love but her success during the battle made her father proud and it was a great reunion for both of them.

Battle scenes are the one we looking forward from this movie. Unfortunately most of the scenes has been featured in trailer, it has no surprise. It also kinda disappointed because the 12 years battles that lead by Mulan has been quick summarized. There was one scene made me think of New Moon. When the army run out of food and water in the middle of desert, Modu cut himself and let his blood fed the thirsty Mulan. It kinda vampirism. Photobucket

Well, Zhao Wei's acting was good. She outshone the character as tough, independent and brave Mulan. You can feel her desire to protect her father and defend her country so much. When all the focus put on Mulan, Chen Kun able to held his character very well too. Due to most of the actors and actress are from China, their slang is different with Mandarin that we normally speak. Therefore, it made Jaycee Chan sound so funny through out the whole movie.
