My Penny of View : Everyone familiar with the original story of Alice in Wonderland but less people knows about the extension story of Alice’s Adventure-Through the Looking-Glass. Basically this movie is the combination of both stories. The story began with 19 years old Alice who was attending a tea party after her beloved father death. She always couldn’t sleep well due to bad dream since she was 6 years old. Actually the tea party was Alice’s engagement party and she unsure about her answer. Meanwhile, she was distracted by a White Rabbit and she followed him to a rabbit hole. She fell down and came to Underland. Everything at Underland looked familiar for Alice and she thought she was dreaming again. The deeper she went through and the more she found that her dream was real. She has a mission to accomplish upon her return to the Underland. What is the mission? Is she going to succeed?

There are three reasons for this must watch movie-the director is Tim Burton, Johnny Depp’s acting and the marvelous 3D effect although the movie only using conventional cameras instead of the costly 3-D cameras. I’m personally love Tim Burton’s film such as The Nightmare Before Christmas, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Edward Scissoshands, Corpse Bride and Batman series. He is famous of specialization in dark and quirky-themed films. The film was shot using conventional cameras and they converted the 2-D into 3-D version. The 3-D effect was good and it presented well on Alice’s newest adventure and Burton’s endless imagination.

Johnny Depp played as “Mad Hatter”-Tarrant Hightopp who always having tea party. You will always find surprise on every Johnny Depp’s movies from acting until makeup. He has orange color hair, pale face and funny movement. He was the supporter of White Queen and he wanted to help the White Queen to get back her kingdom. At the same time, he developed feeling on Alice and he encouraged Alice to fight with the Red Queen's guardian, the Jabberwocky. Johnny Depp’s acting was perfect as Mad Hatter.

I kinda like the character of evil Red Queen with her super big head and jokes. This character lighten up the whole movie especially the scene which she doesn’t know the giant creature was the Alice that she has been looking for. On the other hand, Alice’s role was another surprise throughout the whole movie when you were putting attention on Johnny Depp only. You can see clearly the characteristic development from the weak young girl into a brave girl that fighting with Jabberwocky. You also can see she has great fashion sense of Underland due to her changing body size during the adventure. The dress made by curtain was quite fashionable.

It’s not Tim Burton’s style to adopt children story to develop his movie but I can say the adoption was successful. He has great imagination and wide networking with the great actors and actresses. I’m visually enjoy the converted 3-D effect and delighted with the adventures journey of Alice.

Great review! Love it...

I am going to watch Alice-3D tomorrow!

However this part is not really true:
"It’s not Tim Burton’s style to adopt children story to develop his movie but I can say the adoption was successful."
He has made movies out of children stories before such as Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Nightmare before Christmas..

Anything that has quirky storyline, he likes...

@戏痞三赖 Ya...Tim Burton has good imagination but deep down inside his heart...I think he is lonely and sad, so thats why some of his characters has negative thinking in the beginning.
