My First Experience Watching Tamil Movie in Cinema

On 22.06.2008 (Monday), Daniel and I went to Tropicana City Mall to check out the new 8-screen GSC Tropicana City. There were several selected movies for the free screenings such as Slumdog Millionaire, Dragonball Evolution, Race to Witch Mountain, Confessions of A Shopholic, Paul Bart: Mall Cop, Ip Man, Syurga Cinta and Ayan.

Photobucket We were so disappointed when reached our turn to redeem the free tickets because all English movies were sold out and only left one Tamil movie. After consideration, we wanted to try on the new cinema no matter what movie since we were here. We got our tickets and walked into the cinema.

The moment we walked into the cinema, I can feel many eyes stared at us. Okay, it's very obvious we were not Indian but this is Malaysia, maybe we could understand Tamil. As we know, in Malaysia every movie will have Malay and Chinese subtitles, so we don't need to worry whether we can understand the story or not. Unfortunately the subtitles disappeared in the middle of the movie, it's kinda hard for us to understand what they talking about. Finally with our high IQ, we able to catch the flow of the story. Dancing and singing always is the spice of every Tamil or Hindi movie. You wont's feel boring because it was full of action and fighting. You can see that the main characters are the most beautiful among all and the bad guy always looks ugly. The filming took place in various locations such as Malaysia, Zanzibar and South Africa. The scenes were so beautiful. From Wikipedia, Ayan grossed $1 million in Malaysia. So this is a Blockbuster movie.

The seat in the new cinema was comfortable and you can still smell the paint smell. There is only one weakness through out the whole movie session is that the subtitles seems like 'now you see, now you don't'. Photobucket
