My Penny of View : The story happened in early 1980s. A 12-years old boy, Owen was a lonely and unhappy boy. He was ignored by his divorced parents and bullied by other kids in school. He only can release his anger through imaginative fights and peep on his neighbours using telescope became one of his entertainment. One day, a girl that almost same age as him moved into the apartment next to him with her father. The girl named Abby was weird and she was not afraid of cold. They developed friendship slowly. Meanwhile, Abby's father was weird too. He carried a plastic bag and hide in a car that stopped at the petrol station. He was wearing black plastic on his face. When the car stopped at the junction, he attacked the driver. Later he hang up the driver and slaughtered him to let the blood flowed into a bottle. Why the father do so? What exactly is Abby? Will she harm Owen?

This is another vampire movie and the main character was a 12-years old girl. As we know, vampire can't expose to sunlight and they are hunger for blood. Plus they have immortal bodies and beautiful faces. Some vampires in Twilight or The Vampire Diaries even have supernatural power. In the movie, when vampire exposed to sunlight, she will burst into flames.(This is something different) I knew vampire can't enter a house without invitation from The Vampire Diaries but from this movie only I see the consequences. The vampire will bleed heavily. This movie was based on the 2008 Swedish film, Let the Right One In and the novel of the same name by John Ajvide Lindqvist. It was not focusing on vampire only but on the relationship formed between Owen and Abby. I think Abby was looking for substitute who can help her to supply blood for her by killing people. No matter how hunger for blood she was, she will not hurt the love one. That was part of her humanity and in the end Owen accepted her as vampire. It was kinda boring movie if you thought it's a horror movie but if you concentrate on the inner feeling of Owen and Abby, probably you can understand the meaning of the story. A boy that abandoned by his parents and friends found his oasis from a vampire.
