My Penny of View : The Expendables consisted of six guys-Ross as the leader, Christmas, Yin Yang, Gunnar, Caesar and Road. They were highly trained mercenaries and story began with they were deployed to Somalia to rescue the hostages from pirates. The leader of pirates demanded more on what has been agreed for releasing the hostages and Gunnar initiated the firefight. Finally they defeated the pirates. Gunnar who has psychological problem insisted to hang a live pirates. Yang have a brief fight with Gunnar about this issue and finally Ross resolved the fight. Gunnar has to be out of the team due to his psychological problem.

The new mission was to defeat a local dictator in Vilena. Ross and Christmas went there to investigate the place and meet with their contact-Sandra. After investigation, Ross decided to abort the mission. On the other hand, he felt guilty for leaving Sandra behind. Will he go back for Sandra? How they defeat the local dictator?

This action-war film seems like paying tribute to the blockbuster action films stars such as Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bruce Willis, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Mickey Rourke and Steve Austin. It was a mixture of comedy and action movie. I can't stop laughing throughout the whole movie. I love the part when Stallone appeared together with Schwarzenegger to get the job from Bruce Willis. Both of them keep teasing each other and end up Schwarzenegger didn't take up the job and Stallone commented that because he want to become President. Photobucket Another funny part was Statham introduced himself and Stallone as Buddha and Pest. Storyline was simple and not so much of surprise but it's filled with literally explosive excitement especially Terry Crews used his AA-12 to shoot the human and the body exploded like a piece of art. Jet Li is my idol but when he was fighting with bigger size European, you really can see his limitation no matter how good is his martial art. Overall, it was a great movie and I have fun.

★★★☆☆
