Perth Trip ~ Day 1(05.08.2009) ~ Annalakshmi

After put down our backpacks at the dorm, we went out for food because we didn't eat anything except biscuits since we landed at Perth. The restaurant was based on recommendation from the taxi driver who fetch us from airport. We walked from the One World Backpackers to the restaurant-Analakshmi. It was exhausted but we enjoyed the journey.

You feel safe when you walking along the road

The Commonwealth Bank of Australia is the second largest bank by market capitalisation in Australia

Myer is Australia's largest chain of department stores

The railway station

London Court is a three and four level open-roofed shopping arcade located in the central business district in Perth. Do you think it looks like the street that appear in Harry Potter's story?

Sir Walter Raleigh peering down from the interior of the arcade

Hay Street entrance and clock

The Swan Bells is one of the largest sets of change ringing bells in the world

The eye in Perth

While waiting for the restaurant open

Annalakshmi is an international chain of vegetarian restaurants operating in a unique concept of "Eat to your heart's content, Pay what your heart feels". It is run as a Non-profit organization. The dining is a large buffet and accentuated with Indian art and handicrafts, and occasional classical dance and music performances. You can eat as many as you can with one condition that is no food wasting. First started in Malaysia in 1984, Annalakshmi has branches in Australia, Singapore and India. My cousin told me that is one restaurant in Penang.

The food was tasty, maybe we were too hungry. We think that food was worth for AU$5 and we might come back again before we left Perth.

To be continued...
