My Penny of View : Nina was a ballet dancer who lived with her single mother. Her mother was a failed dancer and she tried to control Nina's life. Nina's ballet company was preparing for a new production of Swan Lake. Thomas, the director wanted to find a new principal dancer to replace the retiring dancer, Beth. The lead cast required to play both the innocent White Swan and the sensual Black Swan. Nina has been selected to compete with others for the lead role but Thomas thought she only suitable for the White Swan role. Nina went to find Thomas to ask for the role. Thomas told her the reason of his selection. When he kissed her, she bite him. Thomas could see some potential on Nina and he gave her the role. Nina was happy for the result but she has started to display psychotic symptoms due to her perfectionist and pressure. What will happen to Nina? Will she able to play the role of Black Swan?

As we know, Swan Lake is a famous ballet composed by Tchaikovsky. This is a psychological thriller film. The story is all about how a person to become the outstanding out of some many competitors. When she has been identified, she slowly went into her dark side because she wanted to make it perfect. In the end, she hurt herself due to too much of pressure. My emotion has been thrilled by Natalie Portman throughout the whole movie. She has been trained in ballet for several months prior to filming and she is so thin. It's quite hard to become an actor nowadays. The movie consists of emotional, psycho, thriller and sex. Some of the scenes was quite violent. I was jumped up in one of the scenes. I think the morale of the story is we really need to know to control our emotion and release tension. Life is short and the result can be perfect if you have put in enough effort.
