My Penny of View : This movie was adopted from the same name detective stories by Arthur Conan Doyle. The movie began with Sherlock Holmes together with his good partner Dr. John Watson solving the scarification ritual by Lord Blackwood. With Holmes' good analytical skill and Watson's swift fighting, they able to save the girl that was going to be scarified. Lord Blackwood has been arrested with punishment which was execution three months later. Before the execution, many weird things happened in jail and they believed that that was related to black magic. Blackwood requested to meet Holmes on that day of execution and he warned him that three more death will occur and his death will change the nature of the world. Balckwood executed and Watson declared his death.

Irene Adler appeared to offer Holmes a job-to find a missing people. Holmes under covered to find out the employer of Irene but he only can conclude that he was a professor. Three days after Blackwood's death, his tomb was destroyed and there was the missing red-hair man that Holmes was looking for inside the coffin. Holmes began his extremely details investigation from there.

Sherlock Holmes is famous and great detective fiction story. The director is good in picking up clues from the books to let the audiences see the real Sherlock Holmes. You can see Holmes' odd eating habits, his superb observation and analytical skills and he afraid of limelight. The chemistry between Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law was good. You can see that their partnership utilizing each of their specific skill sets. There was an exciting fighting scene which spilled from a lab to the docks, complete with sinking ship and flying anchors. I like the slow motion scene when Holmes analyzing how to fight back the big guy. His theory and calculation was so accurate. You must stay in the cinema throughout the whole movie because you will feel hard to catch up the story if you leave the cinema. I guess there will be a follow up movie because Holmes's greatest nemesis Professor Moriaty constantly appearing in last part of the movie. Probably I should get the series of Sherlock Holmes.
