Movie Review-Michael Jackson's This Is It

First of all, I will like say thanks to Josh for giving me tickets that granted my wish. I felt so happy that I get to watch MJ's documentary of his concert rehearsal before his death. It's only showing in theater for 2 weeks in Malaysia. There was a dancing performance dedicated to our beloved king of pop on that night. Photobucket

Personally I think he looks much alike with MJ with his hat on

Great performance

My Penny of View : This is a concert film documenting Michael Jackson's rehearsals of the concert series of 'This Is It' scheduled to start on 13 July 2009, but it was cancelled due to MJ's death on 25 June 2009. It shows the both on stage and behind the scenes of rehearsals. It was shorten from more than 100 hours filming into almost 2 hours show. The film starts with a short text introduction of the purpose of the footage and its intent "For the fans...". It follows by short dialogues and opinion from various dancers. We can see that those principal dancers of this concert was selected from audition among a bunch of great dancers who came from all over the world. Only those who are outstanding and high potential has been chosen to become principal dancers for MJ's concert. There are many songs featured in the film including Wanna Be Startin' Somethin', Speechless, Jam, They Don't Care About Us (with snippet of History), Bad (with snippet of Mind Is The Magic), Human Nature, Smooth Criminal, The Way You Make Me Feel, I Want You Back, The Love You Save, I'll Be There, Shake Your Body (Down to the Ground), I Just Can't Stop Loving You, Thriller (with snippet of Threatened), Beat It, Black or White, Earth Song, Billie Jean, Man in the Mirror This Is It and Heal the World.

From this must-see documentary, you can see that MJ was a serious, perfectionist and polite performers. From music composing, arrangement of outstanding stage effect until group dancing, he knew what he want to show to audience and he only want the best will be performed during the concert. Why I say he was a polite because even he want to scold people, he talked in soft intonation and humorous way. The rehearsals are just that – there is no audience - but MJ was performing at the peak of his powers, his voice and dance moves gloriously intact. We will always remember and miss MJ-King of Pop.
